In the summer 2009 in Lugano, four social marketing specialists met to discussed how best to leverage the emerging International Social Marketing Association, which represents a great opportunity for social marketing in Europe. The team: Francois Lagarde, social marketing and communication consultant and trainer; Christiane Lellig, Basler&Hofmann consultant; Suzanne Suggs, University of Lugano; Giuseppe Fattori, Social Marketing National Working Group.

 

Goals ____________________________

Increase awareness and appreciation of the contribution of social marketig to achieve health, environment and social goals at all levels (from national to local) among key European government decision-makers, university professors and practitioners who could use sm

  • By offering basic sm literature in multiple languages
  • By gathering and sharing case studies of the use of social marketing in various countries, at various levels and for various social issues
  • By analyzing the different applications of sm based on cultural and sub-national characteristics
  • By discussing organizational requirements and capacity for achieving the full potential of sm

Initiate a network of professionals (university professors and practitioners) interested in using and advancing social marketing in Europe
